Yesterday nigth I went to see David Copperfield for the first time. It was amazing, I loved it, but there are a few things I think can be inproved. The first was the sound, may be it had something to do with the fact that the "Palau Sant Jordi" wasn't full, but the sound wasn't clear enougth to understand every sigle word not David nor the spanish translator said. I undestand that this show is more thougth for American public than for Spanish, or any other non english speaker country, but a lot of people around me were making comments of the same, they couldn't follow the show. Another thing I want to comment is when David read the letter of the spanish woman who took care of a girl whose parents died when she was five, I don't know if I undertood it correctly, but that's what I got. It's a really tender moment, but it would have been more easy to belive that the letter was written in spanish. I found it a bit rude the fact that only the people who were sitting in the ground floor had the chance to paly with the balls wich were used to select the people who were going to dissapear, and where did they appear? Finally I just want to comment a little silly thing I appreciate from David, when he did the trick he was reducing himself he took of his shoes and let us see a pair of white socks, wich I found really American, cosidering he was wearing black trousers and dark shoes, and at the end of the trick(wich was amazing), I discovered it was just for us to see his foot clearer, and when he finished he took them off, and he was wearing under them a pair of black socks. The trick I liked one of the most from the show was the one David made a little piece of paper dance on his hand. Beside my comments I just would like to let you know that I loved the show, and I am sorry for not could't have gone to see David when he first came to Barcelona, I really wander some day I can see him fly. I am waiting for him to come back. Continue as you are because you are the best.MARTA. BARCELONA. 27/05/00

Here is some info to hopefully help you. David DOES DO the best he can when using a translator. It, I believe, is not the easiest thing for him to do during the show. As far as the illusion "13" at the end of the show is concerned, MAYBE David thought there was not enough room in the balcony to let the balls bounce around without hurting anyone below. He has to consider everything. Flying illusion - David no longer does that illusion EVERY show like he used to. He has other illusions - and Chris Kenner - to fill in during that time frame. maureen
